Before starting, shut off water supply to the filter system or Reverse Osmosis (RO) water system. If changing cartridges in the 5-stage RO system, close the ball valve on the RO tank and relief the pressure in the filtration unit by opening the faucet. Allow the system to stand for a minute ( to relief pressure) and then bring a pitcher or bucket.

1. Remove the filter housing for all three stages by twisting and rotating them left, or counterclockwise. If the housings are too tight, a filter wrench (e.g., WR-360) may be necessary.

2. Slide out used filter cartridges and discard.

3. We recommend sanitizing the system every two years, only when you want to change the RO membrane (if applicable). See the Sanitization Procedure below.

4. Insert new filter cartridges into appropriate housings. For polishing inline carbon filter, remove tubing from quick connect fitting, then replace the filter.

5. Follow the normal Start-up Procedures.

How do I change the RO membrane?

We recommend changing the membrane every 2-3 years. When you change it, change all other cartridges at the same time. Before starting, shut off water supply to the RO system following the procedure given above.

Caution: Do not drink water from the first tank produced after membrane replacement. Make sure to shut off the water supply and drain the system.

1. disconnect the tubing connected to the membrane cap.

2. Unscrew the cap on large end of the membrane housing.

3. Slide out the used membrane and discard.

4. Remove all other cartridges. Sanitize the system (Is it necessary? Not always), then

5. Insert new membrane, making sure it is fully seated into the other end.

6. Screw cap back onto the housing, making sure "O" ring is still in place.

7. Re-connect the tubing.

How Do I Start Up The RO System?

1. Turn on cold water supply valve and the under sink water valve.

2. Open RO faucet. (Move the black lever to the "up" position).

3. Check the system for leaks. In the event of a leak, the cold water supply can be turned off and the leaking item tightened.

4. After about 20 minutes, or when water is dripping out of the RO faucet, flip the handle to the closed position. It will now take between 3 and 6 hours for the tank to fill.

5. After the tank is full (you will hear no water running to the tank), flush the system by placing the RO faucet in open position until the water is completely discharged from the storage tank.

6. Upon complete discharge of the storage tank, flip the handle to the closed position and let the tank refill. This process may take another 3 to 6 hours.

7. Check for leaks in the first few days.

Caution: Do not drink the water from the first tank volume produced by your newly purchased system or newly replaced membrane.

RO System Sanitation Procedure:

We recommend sanitation of RO systems before the RO membrane is replaced. That is every 2-3 years. Close the Shut-off valve, drain the system, and remove all used cartridges and the old membrane. When the tank is empty close the tank valve. Then disconnect the tubing from the shut-off valve to the RO System. Put approximately 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon of Hydrogen Peroxide or common household bleach into this tube. If you use an eye dropper, this will be easier. Reconnect the tube to the shut-off valve and follow normal start-up procedures, including draining the tank. If you have an icemaker hookup installed, be sure to close the ball valve in the line to the refrigerator or turn off the icemaker until the peroxide or bleach is flushed from the unit.

Install new cartridges and membrane and make sure you let the water go through the faucet until the water is clear. Open the tank valve now and you will be ready to use the sys
