Product Description
This point of entry softening treatment system includes: Fleck 5600 24vac meter valve, Mineral Tank, Stainless outer jacket, Bypass valve 3/4” inlet/outlet
, C100E Resin, and 14x34 Brine Tank Assembeled. Dimension: 10” diameter x 54” height. The capacity of this system is 1.5 Cu Ft (45,000 grains of hardness per regeneration) .
Water Softener is engineered for maximum performance with minimum maintenance. All components are the highest quality in the industry and FDA approved. Trouble free operation for many years. The heavy-duty FLECK5600 meter valve accomplishes this function efficiently, quietly, and dependably.
The Water Softening process is primarily designed to remove inorganic calcium ions from the water as the water supply passes through the softener. After removing hardness from water, soft water enters the pipes in your house. Soft water keeps skin and hair healthy looking, keeps clothes soft and bright, glassware and dishes free from spots, keeps showers and bathtubs free from soap scum, keeps all fixtures from scaling and corrosion. The calcium hardness of the water causes scaling in heaters and pipes results in soap scum in many water-based products. However, because the softener cation resin that is used for this process is not selective to calcium, the resin will also remove magnesium, ferrous iron, traces of metals such as copper, aluminum, zinc and radium. During the removal process the above listed ions are replaced or exchanged for sodium if sodium chloride is used as a regenerating chemical or potassium if potassium chloride is used. By their nature, neither sodium nor potassium will cause scale, interfere with soap or normally create precipitates.
When a water softener is regenerated we normally imply the steps of backwash, brine draw, slow rinse and rapid rinse. The backwash discharge is chemically the same as the raw water, the brine draw and slow rinse waters contain the ions removed during the softening process plus some sodium or potassium and are high in chlorides. The rapid rinse water is softened water.
We recommend installing big blue filter ahead of the water softener (e.g., H-10BB).
