This CB10-2510 is a 2.5"x9.875" Carbon Block (CB) water filter cartridge. The CB cartridge is also known as CTO cartridge because it removes chlorine (C), taste (T), and odor (O). It will also remove organic matter from water by adsorption. This filter cartridge is used as a pre-filter in a reverse osmosis system (e.g., RO5-100).
The 10-micron cartridge will also remove sediments and suspended matter larger than 10 microns (nominal filtration rating). Flow in this cartridge is radial and the flow rate in the filter should not exceed 0.75 GPM for optimal performance. The filtration takes place without channeling, fluidizing, bypassing, or release of carbon fines.
The carbon used is 100% from the coconut shell. This carbon block is wrapped with polyethylene outer netting. The nitrile butadiene rubber (Buna-N) gaskets seal the cartridge against the 10" standard housing. The manufacturer is certified for ISO 9001:2000 Standard and this carbon block filter cartridge meets industry standards for quality assurance.
This cartridge is used as a third stage in the 50 GPD Reverse Osmosis system. It is also used in other water filtration systems.
Service Life: 2500 gallons. Thus, the filter will reduce free available chlorine at 2 parts per million (ppm) by at least 90% in up to 2,500 gallons at a flow rate of 0.75 GPM.
Replace the cartridge with the other cartridges in the same system every 6-12 months.
