This is a Melt Blown polypropylene (Polyspun) 5-micron sediment filtration cartridge. The 2.5”x9.875” cartridge has a low-pressure drop (i.e., 0.25 psi for 1 GPM flow), high chemical resistance, and high dirt-holding capacity. It traps sediment and other particulate matter like dirt and rust. This filter will remove suspended matter (larger than 5 microns) from water, which affects the appearance and the taste of water. Melt Blown PP filters are constructed as multilayers for true depth filtration. The graded density construction captures particles throughout the entire cross-section of the cartridge and reduces surface binding.
The filter cartridge is shrink-wrapped for extra protection during storage and handling.
This cartridge is used as Stage 1 in many drinking water systems including reverse osmosis systems.
